What it is

An AI-assisted report writer from the test publisher PAR, used inside PARiConnect. It generates psychoeducational report drafts from uploaded evaluation documents, notes and score reports, with section-by-section editing and regeneration. Its first report type is the PsychEd Report, and a Diagnostic Considerations feature is in beta. PAR acquired Assessment Assist AI in July 2025, and this is the product that followed.

Who it is for: School psychologists and other PreK-12 school professionals.
Scope of the work it takes on: Test-publisher-tied reporting: it lives inside PARiConnect and works with PAR assessments out of the box, with published lists of supported instruments and report forms.

Which of the three kinds it is

Tier 2 · Report generators and purpose-built drafting tools

Built for this field. They read what you hand them and produce a document in the shape you expect, from template blocks, prompt libraries or a session recording.

You carry: the synthesis. You just type less of it.

The tiers come from the three kinds of AI in psychological assessment report writing. They are about what a system does when the data contradicts itself, not about quality or price.

What it does well

  • The only tool here that publicly describes surfacing conflicting evidence, through its Diagnostic Considerations beta
  • A clear statement that submitted data is never used to train or improve any AI model
  • De-identified tokenised data used in the model, with student data stated as never stored or shared
  • Section regeneration that restarts from the original uploaded source files
  • Explicit framing of the clinician as the final authority on every report
  • Runs inside PAR's SOC 2-compliant PARiConnect environment

What it is not built for

  • Practices outside PreK-12 school work: the product is aimed at school professionals
  • Instruments outside its supported lists
  • Buyers who need a business associate agreement in writing: the page does not mention one

What its makers state

HIPAA and BAA
States “FERPA / HIPAA Compliant” and “Enterprise-Grade Data Security (SOC 2 Compliant)”, and that the tool “is HIPAA, COPPA, and FERPA compliant”. A business associate agreement is not mentioned on the product page.
Data handling
States data submitted “is never used to train or improve any AI model”, runs on a dedicated private Azure deployment, is encrypted in transit and at rest, is “not retained or repurposed” beyond generating that report, and that only de-identified tokenised data reaches the language model.
Claims traceable to a source
Grounding rather than citation: “Each regeneration starts fresh from the original uploaded source files, ensuring that every refinement is grounded in the clinician’s documentation.” Individual statements are not described as traceable to a specific source.
Surfacing contradictory data
Stated, in beta: Diagnostic Considerations “identif[ies] diagnostic questions raised by the evaluation data, highlighting supporting and conflicting evidence, and noting missing or unclear information relevant to DSM-5-TR decision making”.
Clinician approval step
Described as workflow: “The PsychEd Report is a starting draft” and “final responsibility—and clinical judgment—always rests with the professional using the tool.”
