PsychAssist vs PsychReport.ai

Two tools with near-identical promises. The difference is what happens underneath the draft.

Written by us, about a competitor. Everything attributed to PsychReport.ai comes from their own site, linked at the bottom.

“Not stated” means exactly that. Plenty of capable tools do not publish this detail, and we would rather leave a blank than guess on a competitor’s behalf.

What the choice actually turns on

The promises are close enough that the marketing will not separate us. The architecture will. Ask both of us to show you where a claim came from and what argues against the conclusion - our whole platform is built around those two answers, and their published material does not mention either.

Ask us both the same questions

Put these to PsychReport.ai and to us, live, on a case with something messy in it. Marketing claims are cheap and these are not.

  1. 01Show me the evidence in this case that contradicts the diagnosis - the scores, the instrument, and the session it came from.
  2. 02Pick any sentence in this draft. Show me the source it came from, and let me open it.
  3. 03Show me what a clinician approved into this record, and when.
  4. 04Export the audit trail for this case while I watch.
  5. 05Your material says every report ends with a clinician reading, editing and signing it. Show me what the system itself records about that step, and what it does if a score and a narrative disagree.

We answer all of these, and the table above shows what each vendor states publicly. The demo is where you find out which answers are real. The longer buyer’s guide has the rest.

If you are already using PsychReport.ai

If you are already drafting from scores and notes, nothing about your testing changes. What changes is what the draft rests on, and what you can show afterwards about how it was built.

Bring a case with a contradiction in it - the one where the parent and teacher do not agree - and we will run these questions against it in front of you.

What PsychReport.ai states publicly

HIPAA and BAA
States HIPAA compliance and a “self-service BAA”, “signed in minutes, included on every plan”.
Data handling
States AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, “zero data retention” in AI processing, “we never use patient data to train AI models”, uploaded score documents deleted after 14 days, and SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure.
Claims traceable to a source
Not stated. The site does not describe statements in the report being traceable to a source document.
Surfacing contradictory data
Not stated.
Clinician approval step
Described as workflow rather than an enforced gate: “AI makes mistakes. That’s why every report here ends the same way: with a clinician reading it, editing it, and signing it.”

Hold both of us to the same questions. The six requirements are published to be applied to any platform, ours included, and how to choose turns them into questions for a demo.

Common questions

What is PsychReport.ai?
PsychReport.ai is an AI report writing tool for psychologists. You enter or upload test scores and clinical notes, it drafts the report, and you edit and sign it in a built-in editor before exporting to Word or PDF. Its site states support for over 270 assessments and a self-service BAA on every plan.
Is PsychReport.ai HIPAA compliant?
Its site states HIPAA compliance with a self-service business associate agreement included on every plan, AES-256 encryption with TLS 1.3, zero data retention in AI processing, no training on patient data, automatic deletion of uploaded score documents after 14 days, and SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure.
What is the difference between PsychReport.ai and PsychAssist?
The promises are similar and the architecture is not. PsychReport drafts a report from the scores and notes you give it. PsychAssist holds a structured case file across the whole workflow and derives the report from it, which is what makes it able to tie each claim to its source and surface data that argues against the formulation. PsychReport's site does not describe either capability.
